Much better run today - back outside, with perfect weather for running. I was able to run for 40 minutes, and the last 20 were pretty easy. There was one upside from being on the treadmill, as I was more confident to push myself a bit faster than before. The first 10 minutes were hard work, as always, but then it got easier and by the end I felt I could have continued without too much trouble.
Quite a relief, as the treadmill had thrown me a bit, and I was concerned I'd lost fitness and wouldn't be able to complete the run. Felt great to do it, and I continued on to get to 5k.
Yesterday, Amazon delivered the massage balls the physio recommended. I have tried them up against the wall to get into my upper back, and even under my left shoulder. The red spiky one I'm not so keen on, but the black and grey ones are marvellous. I wish I'd thought of it years ago, to work that part of my upper back that locks up around the old compression fractures (T8-T11).
Off to see the physio again tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how the followup goes (that's where the wheels have come up with the last two....). I'm a little depressed tonight, having spent some time on google looking at recovery times. I'm still not sure what has gone wrong here:
So it's now 5 months since the accident, and I still have such restricted movement that I start to worry that it cannot be fixed, and this is it. Other people who wrote about this were in a much better state way before now.
Hoping I'll be feeling a bit more positive after seeing the physio again tomorrow.
Update: saw the physio and it was great. Firm manipulation round my shoulder blade and shoulder socket, enough to make my eyes water. Plus some exercises to do with stretch bands to apply some traction to the joint and get it moving a bit. I did pilates arms when I got home, as I caught sight of my arms and realised just how much condition I lost in both of them, and I used the dumbbells rather than soup cans.
My shoulder now feels loose. Actually loose. And a bit sore.

- June 7th- I broke my shoulder
- June 10th - 22nd - Consultant appointments, scans etc
- July 2nd - start physio
- July 2nd - Aug 9th - I did all the pendulums, shoulder shrugs etc that were recommended. I ended up with a locked up shoulder, terrible pain, and back at the consultant
- Aug 16th - athrolysis (no MUA for IGHL possible)
- Aug 24th - Sep 13th - new physio, at the hospital, including trying swimming
- Sep 13th - Nov 1st - Youtube and google are my only sources, and continue with ROM exercises.
- Nov 2nd - 3rd time lucky with new physio. Shoulder has started to seize up again, and hurts in the morning.
